Events in 2017

We frequently hold free lunchtime recitals on Fridays at 1.30pm after our communion service.  We also run many other events ranging from craft fairs, children's activities, exhibitions and workshops throughout the year.

Free Summer Holiday activities -

Try out our Spy-Tastic Trail around the chapel to find all the clues - available Monday-Saturdays throughout the summer
 
Wednesday 26th July, 2nd August, 9th August, 16th August 10.30am-1pm
Code-cracking, Spy-Specs, Spy-ID cards and lots more creative crafty fun in the Broadmead Courtyard
(or inside the chapel in case of wet weather).
All activities are free but children must be accompanied.
 
Bristol Doors Open Day - Free tours of Charles Wesley's House
Thursday 7th - Sunday 10th September 
Delve into the world of Methodist hymn writer Charles Wesley by visiting the 18th Century townhouse that was a family home from 1749 to 1771. This house gives you an insight into domestic living over 250 years ago - with the opportunity to try on traditional 18th Century style costumes.

Healthy City 'Wellbeing Day'
Saturday 14th October
As part of Bristol Healthy City Week 2017, the New Room will be hosting a series of workshops, talks and taster sessions around healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.  More information to come.
 
Journey to Justice festival talk: Wesley and the Anti-Slavery Movement
Monday 16th October, 6.15pm-7.30pm
Tickets £3 on the door (limited spaces available). 
How was a leading figure of the evangelical revival in 18th Century Britain persuasive in calling for the abolition of the slave trade?  Join us as Warden, Gary Best explores how John Wesley made an impact on society, and how Methodism continues to fight the causes of injustice in our world today.
